I’m Dr. Aiesha Turman: scholar, educator, filmmaker, writer, curriculum developer, and Afrofuturist thinker. My work lives at the intersections of Black futures, rooted pasts, cultural memory, African diasporic spirituality, Black feminist thought, pedagogy, and creative inquiry.
In other words: I think, teach, write, and create around the many ways Black people remember, imagine, survive, heal, and build toward freedom.

Through The Studio, I offer support for educators, cultural organizations, schools, community groups, museums, public humanities projects, and mission-aligned institutions. My consulting and creative strategy work may include curriculum design, Afrofuturism-centered programming, public humanities projects, workshop development, cultural memory work, storytelling projects, and educational resources for films, exhibitions, archives, and community programs.
